Come As You Are

Typography

"Come As You Are" is a typographic poster created from the fusion of two existing typefaces. These typefaces are Pistilli by Claude Pelletier and Edwardian Script by Edward Benguiat. This hybrid is produced by combining and integrating knockouts, duplicates of letters and parts of letters, flourishes, and swashes.

The phrase "Come As You Are" is a quote coined by the former band, Nirvana. The term can be interpreted as an invitation to be yourself, hence the incorporation of the festive bubbles and tails. However, staying true to Nirvana's grungy style, the typographic tails and mixture are altered to resemble thorns.
